Hello, my name is Ville Nordlund. I'm a design-led senior product engineer with over 10 years of experience building web and mobile applications in TypeScript, React, and React Native.

I operate at the intersection of product and platform — shipping polished user interfaces while defining the architectural foundations that let systems evolve safely as teams and complexity grow.

On the frontend, I design application structures, shared design systems, and cross-platform UI patterns across web (Next.js) and mobile (React Native). I care about codebases that stay predictable and pleasant to work in over time.

On the backend, I build secure services with NestJS, using REST or GraphQL over relational and document databases. My focus is well-defined data contracts, role-based access control, and system boundaries that reduce risk as products grow.

AI-augmented delivery is a core part of how I work. I ship fluently with AI coding agents and shape codebases — docs, ADRs, conventions — to be effective for both humans and AI to work in.

I enjoy working on data-driven products and collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to ship high-quality, sustainable user experiences.

I'm currently at Clock & Cloud Intelligence, an early-stage startup building a geopolitical risk-intelligence platform. As a design-led full-stack product engineer, I lead frontend development and architecture and regularly build backend services — together shipping the tools customers use to map risk, analyze exposure, and share findings across their organization.

Alongside my day job, I'm running a personal experiment: building a mobile app for dog owners end-to-end — design, mobile, backend, infrastructure — as a way to explore what solo AI-augmented product engineering actually feels like in practice.
